Services
At our facility, we offer many different forms of dental restoration such as:
Fillings: A simple procedure that restores the function and integrity of a tooth. We provide dental fillings in a very natural appearing tooth colored resin. The resin is a composite that we bond to the top of the tooth before being formed and polished to match the tooth being restored as well as the adjacent tooth or teeth.
Crowns: Just as the name implies, a crown is the product of a simple procedure after which the entire top of the damaged tooth is capped by a restorative material. Like fillings, crowns can be made from various materials which are also applied to the tooth using a dental cement. For total comfort and effect, crowns are fabricated specifically for the tooth to which it will be applied. Sometimes crown are placed on teeth that need internal repair. In this case we perform an implant crown—this is a crown which is bonded to the synthetic material which comprises the artificial tooth or implanted artificial portion of the tooth.
Fixed Partial Denture / Bridge: more commonly known as a bridge, is a restoration given to a patient who is missing one or more teeth. The missing tooth can be the product of an unfortunate accident, an unhealthy tooth needing removal, or it can be a matter of genetics—whatever the reason, the procedure and methods are the same and equally effective. Bridges are typically prosthodontics—essentially, a tooth fabricated by a specialist. However, they can also be created directly in the patient’s mouth using a resin. The term “artificial tooth” or “false teeth” may conjure up images of George Washington and teeth sculpted from wood, but procedure today is an extremely modern one which results in the patient sporting a smile of brilliant, genuine teeth. No matter the reason for the for the artificial tooth, the patient can rest assured that the meshing of art and science which occurs in the process will result in a smile which is as pleasant to the eye as it is functional.
Non Surgical Gum Treatment: Periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, can be treated by using a more conservative approach that doesn't require gum surgery. It involves the removal of bacteria, tartar, and dental plaque that lie beneath the gum tissue. Antibiotics are then placed in certain areas to help eliminate the periodontal pockets, thus, reducing inflamed, bleeding gums and stopping bone loss.
Cosmetic Dentistry
We are pleased to offer the best in simple but extremely effective procedures to make cosmetic enhancements to our patients’ smiles.
Teeth Whitening: A safe service which will leave your teeth gleaming white. We use a harmless bleaching method that counteracts the numerous reasons that lend to the darkening or dulling of a tooth’s color.
Dental Veneers: (Offered as a restorative process, a cosmetic measure, or both) As the term may suggest, the dental veneer is the application of a very thin sheet of a substance to the surface of a tooth. At Heitke and Vu we use porcelain, which is proven to be more structurally durable and of better cosmetic integrity over time. The fine sheet of porcelain is bonded to the surface of the tooth using a resin cement.
