Dr. Lou Heitke
A Wisconsin native and Marquette Graduate, Dr. Lou Heitke considers himself fortunate to have been providing quality dental care in the Madison area for over 37 years. After earning his undergraduate degree in psychology, Dr. Heitke, inspired by his father-in-law and sister, attended Marquette University School of Dentistry. Over three decades later he continues to be delighted with his decision to join the dental profession.
Dr. Heitke values the trust that his patients and staff instill in him. He has earned that trust through years of consistent treatment and sincere interest in others’ experiences, concerns, and needs. Over his career he has learned that every person has a story to tell. By appreciating and listening to these stories he better understands each patient’s frame of reference, and is thus better able to provide individualized care.
Dr. Heitke is a member of the Dane County Dental Society, the Wisconsin Dental Association, the American Dental Association and is a past president of the Wisconsin Dental Study Club. He has been a part time clinic instructor at MATC School of Dental Hygiene for many years and as a result has kept up with the most current changes and standards of periodontal treatment. Dr. Heitke served as a dentist for over twenty years in the Wisconsin Army National Guard where he was exposed to people from many different walks of life and parts of the world.
When not in the office, Dr. Heitke can be found enjoying the great outdoors, most likely golfing or working on his tree farm where he has planted thousands of trees over the past twenty years. He is a devoted husband and father and enjoys spending his free time with his wife, Tia and their daughters, Meggie and Katie and their 2 grandsons and 2 grandaughters.

Dr. Golden Vu graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 1997 with a B.S. degree in Biology. He received his D.M.D. degree from Southern Illinois University, School of Dental Medicine in 2002. Dr. Vu grew up in Chicago and moved to Madison, WI after graduating from dental school. In 2004, he joined the practice and has been providing professional, exceptional dental care to his patients.

His goal is to provide a personal and comfortable experience for all of his patients. Dr. Vu is a member of the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, and the Dane County Dental Society.

Jill, Front Desk Manager
I am originally from Evansville, Wisconsin. I have three amazing children and three terrific dogs. I fell into a dental job nine years ago and have been working in dental offices ever since. I love greeting the patients, watching families grow and seeing people smile. I love working at this office and with our staff here at Heitke and Vu. I feel very fortunate to be a part of such a great place to work!
Linda, Front Desk – Reception
I enjoy working the front desk; getting to know our patients and helping them schedule their next appointment. We truly have a wonderful staff here and we try to accommodate our patient’s needs. Everyone has busy schedules, as do I. I have lived on the west side of Madison for 30 years. I’ll be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with a very special gentleman. We love going to Badger football and basketball games. Spending time with our family and friends and just enjoying the great outdoors. I am enjoying being a grandma. I love it!!
Cheryl, Dental Assistant
I will be celebrating 28 years, spring of 2015. I have to say that the time has flown by quickly. I grew up on a farm in Brooklyn, Iowa. My family still lives in the area. I moved to the Badger state in 1981, first to Stevens Point, then to Madison in 1988. My husband, Todd and I bought a one-room schoolhouse 21 years ago near Brooklyn, Wisconsin. It has truly been a labor of love. Living close to the Sugar River, you will find me riding down the bike trail, boating down the river, or walking my dog Gretta. But my favorite place to be is on my ATV. I am active in several ATV clubs and find ourselves spending most of our vacation time at different ATV riding destinations. I also enjoy my time as a “big sister” with the big brother/sister program. It has been my pleasure to get to know our patients throughout these past years. I enjoy working downtown. The practice is unique both inside and out as well as the doctors and staff. It’s great to hear out patients say “Best Experience Ever!”
Heidi, Dental Assistant
I started working as a dental assistant while in the program at MATC. I worked in the Windsor/Waunakee area for eight years before coming to this awesome practice. I have always felt very at home here with great doctors, co-workers, patients and location. I grew up in a small, rural area north or Madison and have always lived in the surrounding area. Most of my free time I enjoy spending with family and friends, riding horses, riding my Harley, watching movies or just enjoying “down time.” I actually enjoyed going to the dentists growing up, I guess bringing me to this profession. I try to help put patients at ease during treatment and try to make it the best possible experience possible.
Jamie, Registered Dental Hygienist
I started working as a dental assistant while I was in school, but once I graduated from Hygiene, I joined this office and have never looked back. I love working here and have grown to appreciate my patients, staff, the doctors, and our lovely downtown location. Originally from Janesville, Wisconsin, my parents and family still live in the area. I have lived in Madison since 2002. I have a bichon mix puppy named Symon Michael, named after Michael Symon from the Food Network! Needless to say, I enjoy cooking, and have even done some catering for events on the side. I spend a lot of my free time with friends and family. I stay busy by playing volleyball, kickball, and by walking Symon. I also love watching the Badgers, Brewers and Packers. I hope to remain active in the community by volunteering and continuing to provide the best care for my patients. I know that going to the dentist is not everyone's favorite thing to do, but I hope to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. You should walk away from our visits feeling good about your dental health, and knowing how to make your overall dental health even better.

My goal is to keep helping patients feel comfortable during their treatment.
